Japan to Invest Additional $10 Billion to Further Expand LNG Market

At the LNG Producer-Consumer Conference 2019 held in Tokyo on 26th, Isshu Sugawara, the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, announced Japanese public and private sectors would invest additional US$10 billion in the LNG industry. The Japanese government had announced an investment of $10 billion at the annual conference held in 2017 to generate LNG demand, but more than $10 billion has already been injected into the LNG industry, mainly in Asia, over the current two years. With the additional investment, Japan aims to provide a boost to further market growth.
