Japan’s Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) on 24th announced that it has entered into a long-term charter deal of aFloating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) for an offshore LNG import project in Hong Kong with Hong KongLNG Terminal Limited (Hong Kong LNGT). MOL plans to deliver one of its FSRU fleet “MOL FSRU Challenger” in2021, when the new import terminal is scheduled to commence operation.In addition to the charter deal on an FSRU, MOL and Hong Kong LNGT, a joint venture invested by localelectricity firm CLP Power, Hong Kong Electric Company and other firms, have signed a long-term terminal maintenanceand operation service contract. To handle maintenance and operation of the jetty at the terminal, MOL has signed a dealwith Royal Vopak, the world’s largest tank storage firm.
