Javelin emerges as Murray Energy creditor

Motions filed in connection with the “first day” Chapter 11 hearing for Murray Energy included Javelin Global Commodities filing a “notice of appearance” as a creditor and the Pennsylvania Dept. of Environmental Protection filing as an “interested party.” Murray Energy Holdings filed for Chapter 11 status on Tuesday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio, Western Division. U.S. Bankruptcy Judge John E. Hoffman Jr. is presiding over the case. Javelin was formed in 2015 by management (38%), Murray Energy Corporation (34%) and Uniper SE (28%), according to a document describing the complex arrangements among Murray Energy, its various subsidiaries, Foresight Energy (which is not a part of the bankruptcy proceedings), Javelin and investors.
