Portuguese government aims to accelerate coal phase-out

Portuguese Prime Minister, António Costa, announced his government’s intention to move up the country’s coal phase-out plan to 2023, having already accelerated the schedule just a month ago. “We will attempt to cease coal-fired generation in the country by September 2023,” Antonio said in his inauguration speech.
