USG petcoke prices fall with coal and firm freights

Atlantic petroleum coke prices face further downward pressure from a weak thermal coal market and firm freight rates. In the high-sulfur market, netback prices based on recent offers into Mediterranean and Brazilian tenders are being reported by traders in a range of $32- 33/metric tonne FOB U.S. Gulf, basis 7,500 kc NAR. Freight rates from the USG to Turkey are assessed at $24/t, while rates to Brazil are assessed at $18.50/t.
