Westmoreland judge orders formation of retirees’ committee

Westmoreland Coal’s retirees, retirees’ spouses and their eligible dependents receiving benefits under the Coal Act will be represented by a court-appointed panel, according to a U.S. Bankruptcy Court ruling on Jan. 10. This is the result of a lack of volunteers coming forward when the U.S. Trustee was charged with putting together a committee.
