A Kentucky insurance firm is asking for a Dec. 19 hearing in Cambrian Holding Company’s bankruptcy court over what the firm says is nonpayment of premiums by the new owners of Perry County Coal. Kentucky Employers’ Mutual Insurance Company said in its filing that American Resources Corp. and its subsidiary, Perry County Resources LLC hadn’t as of Dec. 6 paid more than $90,000 that was due on Dec. 2. “Nor has ARC and/or PCR either a) made any specific proposal with respect to an alternative payment schedule of this sum or any other sums; b) provided any specifics as to when either would anticipate being able to make the now-overdue payment, or any other payments: or c) provided any excuse or justification,” according to the filing in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky,.
