Northwest European inventories on the uptick

Combined coal inventories at the five major terminals in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) hub rose by 2% to 7.15 million metric tonnes on Monday, compared with 6.99 million tonnes on the same day last week. Stockpiles are up by nearly 50% on a yearly basis due to strong arrivals and a slowdown in barge loadings. Arrivals from Russia and U.S. dominate the supply mix, but this week a cargo from Colombia is expected at the EMO terminal in Rotterdam.
