DOL, Blackjewel remain at odds over ‘hot goods’ coal

The Department of Labor, bankrupt Blackjewel LLC and a Blackjewel affiliate listed as a creditor in the case – Blackjewel Marketing and Sales Holdings – have for all practical purposes stuck to their positions in U.S. Bankruptcy Court briefs filed Monday over whether more than 100,000 tons of Kentucky and Virginia coal should be designated “hot goods” and prohibited from moving to market.
