Professor calls for debate and revisit of plastic ban concept

ELIMINATION of single-use plastic by 2020 is perfectly fine,but a total ban on plastic will not be good either for the industry or the common man,said Rajagopalan Vasudevan,professor at the Thiagarajar College of Engineering,Madurai. The professor,who is also known as the Plastic Man of India,uses plastic waste to build roads. Stating that there were myths about various kinds of plastic,he said,"all plastic is not bad. Such intense negativity in perception on plastic has affected the industry adversely and public discourse.”
