摘要

Graphical abstract Two 2-D coordination polymers of the bbit ligand with Zn(II) and Cd(II) ions have been successfully synthesized. Polymer 1 was synthesized by a one-pot reaction, while compound 2 was prepared via substitution of the Zn(II) ion in 1 by the Cd(II) ion. The synthesized polymers exhibit antibacterial activities. Display Omitted Abstract Two new isostructural Zn(II) and Cd(II) coordination polymers, namely {[Zn2(bbit)3Cl2][ZnCl4]} n (1) and {[Cd2(bbit)3Cl2][CdCl4]} n (2), have been synthesized and structurally characterized. These compounds represent the first examples of cationic coordination polymers with a tetrahedral MS3Cl [M=Zn(II) and Cd(II)] repeating unit. Each of these units is bridged to three symmetry-related ones through the bbit ligands. The 2D [M2(bbit)3Cl2]2+ cationic networks stack in an ABAB… sequence along the c-direction. From MIC, MBC and DNA cleavage activity studies, it can be concluded that the title compounds possess antibacterial activity. ]]>
