Australia’s South32 expects IMC coal output in 2017-18 to fall sharply on year

Australia’s South32 is expecting a sharp year-on-year fall inproduction at its Illawarra Metallurgical Coal operation in fiscal 2017-2018 (July-June), following the suspension of a mine earlier this year,the company said Tuesday.During the year, IMC is expected to produce 4.5 million mt ofsaleable coal, compared to 7.07 million mt in fiscal 2016-2017 and 8.37million mt in fiscal 2015-2016.
