Gas-fired electricity generation in Greece edged ahead ofthat from lignite in November and is now on course to be Greece’sforemost generation source for a full calendar year for the first time,the latest data from system operator Energy Exchange Group showed.The data became available as Greek media reported a further delayto the sale of lignite-fired power stations owned by state utility PPC.Eleven-month 2018 gas-fired generation at 13.539 TWh is now 15GWh ahead of lignite generation, an unprecedented situation reflectingthe two fuels’ contrasting trajectories.
