Singapore—China’s domestic thermal coal market remained on anupward trend amid ongoing maintenance at its major railwaytransportation line and dwindling stockpiles at some of the Chineseports, market sources said Wednesday.The price of spot domestic 5,500 kcal/kg NAR cargoes has surgedYuan 28/mt since the Golden Week holidays to be assessed Wednesday at Yuan 668/mt FOB Qinhuangdao, S&P Global Platts data showed.Offers for 5,500 kcal/kg NAR were heard at Yuan 675/mt FOBQinhuangdao, with trades taking place at around Yuan 670/mt FOB,while spot cargoes of 5,000 kcal/kg NAR were mostly trading at aroundYuan 600/mt FOB, a China-based trader said.
