Indonesia plans to remove coal domestic market obligation, mulls export duty

The Indonesian government plans to revoke the current coaldomestic market obligation policy and instead apply a levy on exports,a senior government official said late Friday.Under the existing regulation, coal companies have to allocate atleast 25% of their annual coal production to the domestic market. InMarch, the government also set a price cap of $70/mt basis 6,322 kcal/kg GAR coal for domestic purchases by state-owned utility PLN.
