Singapore—It was a quiet start to the trading week on the seaborne metallurgical coal market, with prices unchanged Monday. S&P Global Platts assessed Premium Low Vol steady at $145/mt CFR China, and the PLV FOB Australia prices unchanged at $133.75/mt Monday. Spot activities were limited in the metallurgical coal market on the start of a new trading week. “Current spot prices are very competitively priced, but we do not have any demand. If we did, we could certainly pay at these levels,” a Chinese steelmaker said, whose last purchase was in early October this year.
