Singapore—Demand for Chinese domestic thermal coal hasn’t seen a boost despite hotter weather, while end-users are looking to offload amid high stockpiles, market sources said Friday. “I guess this summer is not going to get any [more] hotter, so it is unlikely that daily consumption will go up further,” said an east China- based analyst. Daily power consumption at six major coastal power plants was recorded at around 796,700 mt on Friday, up from around 600,000 mt about a month ago, but down again after hitting above 800,000 mt this week.
