Singapore—China’s largest coking coal producer Shanxi Coking Coal Group plans to cut domestic coking coal prices by Yuan 20-50/mt and reduce production by 10% across its mines in Shanxi province due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on demand, a company source said Monday. In an internal announcement to clients late last week, Shanxi proposed cutting prices of coal from its Jiexiu mine by Yuan 50/mt, Tunlan by Yuan 30/mt, Mucun by Yuan 30/mt, Gaoyang by Yuan 30 /mt, Tongtongta by Yuan 30/mt and Xinzhi by Yuan 20/mt, the company source told S&P Global Platts.
