Egypt’s Jan-Feb 2020 petcoke imports fall 20% on year

London—Egypt imported 317,232 mt of petcoke in the first two months of 2020, down 20% from the year ago period, official data from the Port of Alexandria released Wednesday showed. However, this was less severe than the plunge seen in the Egypt’s thermal coal imports during the same period. Thermal coal imports slumped 45% to 658,538 mt in January-February 2020. Officials at the port confirmed that most of the coal loadings were of US origin.
