Oxbow resumes Texas calcined petcoke perations; Louisiana calciners still down

Pittsburgh—Oxbow’s calcined petcoke plant in Port Arthur, Texas, has resumed operations following Hurricane Laura, a company official said Sept. 11, but calciners near Lake Charles, Louisiana, remain offline. Oxbow’s Texas calciner was down “about a week” after Hurricane Laura hit the US Gulf Coast Aug. 27, but production was restored by the week of Sept. 6, the company official told S&P Global Platts. The Texas facility has the capacity to produce 700,000 mt/year of anode and industrial grade CPC.
