Australian government pumps A$70 million into hydrogen export hub

Melbourne—The Australian federal government said Sept.17 that it will allocate A$70.2 million ($51 million) towards establishing a hydrogen export hub as part of an overall A$1.9 billion ($1.4 billion) investment in future fuels technologies. The government is switching its investment focus away from wind and solar -– which it said were now commercially self-supportive -– towards renewables such as hydrogen, and carbon capture and storage.
