London—Indian coal terminals will see a considerable slowdown in operations after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a 21-day lockdown across the country, with numerous major terminals declaring force majeure due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. This strikes another blow to the already weak seaborne coal market as the world’s second-largest importer will see a drastic reduction in short-term demand, sources said Tuesday.
