Coal India’s April-May output falls 11% on year to 81.8 mil mt

New Delhi—Indian state-run Coal India Limited or CIL produced 81.81 million mt of coal over April-May, down 11% on year, the company said in a regulatory filing on June 1. Output for May was also down 11% on year, at 41.43 million mt, the company said. Offtake over April-May, the first two months of India’s fiscal year, was down 24% on year at 79.02 million mt, and for May was down 23% on year at 39.95 million mt, CIL said.
