Asian low density polyethylene prices rose this week as supply tightened. LDPE was assessed at $1,248/mt CFR Far East Asia Wednesday, up $6/mt week on week and at $1,277/mt CFR Southeast Asia, up $15/mt over the same period. Sources said Iranian LDPE producers no longer had inventory pressure to sell at low prices in China. Prices had earlier been under pressure due to the widespread availability of cheap Iranian cargoes in China.
