Northwest European paraxylene prices were assessed at $1,499/mt FOB ARA, down $10/mt, although it rose $3/mt from the previous Friday. In market news, Artlant PTA completed the startup of the 700,000 mt/year purified terephthalic acid plant in Sines, Portugal, and have begun delivering PTA to customers, the company said in a statement Friday. Sources have said for more than a week that the start-up process was near completion.
