In Peru, high density polyethylene (HDPE) prices increased this week on the back of higher offers from Asia and the US for October shipments, sources said. Global HDPE producers have justified the rise in prices because of tight supply expectations in the fourth quarter of the year due to lower operating rates and higher feedstock ethylene values. A wide range of offers to Peru for HDPE injection were talked this week with sell ideas from China at $1,630/mt CFR, while Taiwan's Formosa was heard offering at $1,570/mt CFR and Mexico at $1,580/mt CFR.
