Low density linear polyethylene Platts price assessments were at the same levels for CFR Peru from last week, with offers from Asia heard at $1,610-1,620/mt CFR. Bids in the Peruvian market were heard around $1,540/mt CFR. A source at Brazilian petrochemical producer Braskem said the company did not have any April offers yet, but there were expectations of higher offers to the Andean countries in April. During March, Braskem was offering LLDPE butene with low availability at $1,600/mt CFR. "Asian offers are still very competitive, but we believe they could increase for April, which could allow the Latin producers to have jump in prices for April," said the Braskem source.
