European monoethylene glycol spot prices remained under pressure this week as demand remained "patchy" and "dull," sources said. Offers were heard at Eur870-900/mt FCA NWE while CIF prices were at Eur860-880/mt CIF NWE. An unconfirmed cargo was heard moving from Rabigh, Saudi Arabia, to southern Europe at Eur830/mt CIF for T2. "With Asian prices dragging, more Middle East material is heading for Europe," one seller observed. Poor demand and downstream sales drove Asian MEG to a 16-month low at $973/m CFR Friday. "Prices are soft, but I refuse to sell below Eur870/mt for a vessel into NWE," a second producer noted.
