US spot ethylene assessments were down 1 cent/lb week on week, assessed Friday at 59.75-60.25 cents/lb FD USG on a shortened week due to the Labor Day holiday on Monday. Spot ethylene was up earlier in the week, assessed at 61.25- 61.75 cents/lb on Tuesday. However, the price retreated 1.5 cents/lb on Wednesday in what traders described as a "pull-back day". In the final two days of the week the market was flat amid sparse trading activity.
