Friday's 3- to 30-day spot styrene assessment receded 2.05 cents on the week to 66 cents/lb FOB USG on lower feedstock benzene. Domestic demand was characterized as steady, while export demand was described as weak despite an arbitrage window to Europe opening for the latter half of the week. Supply remained tight, sources said. US production rates have been cut to around 70%, but some producers have been heard ramping them up, sources said.
