London-Lebanon has approved the award of two offshore exploration blocks in its Exclusive Economic Zone to a consortium of Total, Eni and Russia’s Novatek, the country’s petroleum administration said Thursday. Exploration and production licences covering Blocks 4 and 9 were awarded under the country’s first offshore licensing round following an agreement on the terms. Total, Eni and Novatek was the only consortium to submit an offer in the round.
