Saudis step up oil supply to Japan despite output cuts

Japan's crude imports from Saudi Arabia in February rose to the highest level for the month since the 1980s as the Middle East producer kept shipments to one of its key customers intact despite lowering output as part of the deal agreed late last year between OPEC and non-OPEC producers. Japan imported an average of 1.44 million b/d of crude oil from Saudi Arabia in February, up 30% year on year and up 0.2% from January, data released Friday by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry showed.
