Nigeria’s NPDC aims to produce 500,000 b/d by end of 2020

London-The Nigerian Petroleum Development Company,the upstream subsidiary of state-owned Nigerian National Petroleum Corp.,said it is aiming to produce 500,000 b/d by the end of next year,buoyed by a series of drilling activities at its onshore and offshore assets.NPDC managing director Yusuf Matashi said in a statement that this compares with”recent average weekly production levels of 332,000 b/d,”adding that this will raise NPDC’s contribution to 25% of Nigeria’s current crude and condensate output of around 2 million b/d.The bulk of Nigeria’s oil output is accounted for by Nigeria’s foreign partners,including Shell,ExxonMobil,Chevron,Total and Eni.
