Caracas, Venezuela-Problems with Venezuela’s electric power grid have helped cut crude output from Venezuela’s Orinoco Belt to just 124,000 b/d, around 85% less than June’s 835,000 b/d, according to a technical report reviewed Wednesday by S&P Global Platts. This is the lowest registered crude production level since early April, when output fell to 169,000 b/d, largely due to the impact of US sanctions.
