South Sudan appears to soften year-end oil production target

London-South Sudan has appeared to soften its official oil production targets after its oil minister said the East African country now sees oil output reaching 250,000 b/d in the “near future.” Announcing details of new oil licensing push, oil minister Awow Daniel Chuang said South Sudan is currently pumping 178,000 b/d, slightly lower than recent estimates.
