Nigeria's shipping firm wins key role in oil deals

Lagos-Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation's fledgling shipping subsidiary NIDAS has been given a new lease on life as its freight services will now be incorporated into the country's lucrative crude oil term contracts and the import of petroleum products, sources said Tuesday. NNPC sources told S&P Global Platts that companies with lifting contracts are now compelled to offer 60% of their cargoes to NIDAS for freighting.
