Gibson to move ahead with new Alberta light oil pipeline

Houston-Gibson Energy said Wednesday it will move ahead with plans to build a 75-mile crude oil pipeline in Alberta, even as Canadian benchmark heavy and light crude prices continue to be traded at wide discounts to WTI. The Viking Pipeline, with a price tag of some C$50 million ($40 million), will ship 13,300 b/d at start up in the first quarter of 2019, Gibson said.
