Renaissance expects to develop Mexican shale

Calgary-Canada's Renaissance Oil expects to conclude its appraisal program at its Amatitlan Block in Mexico's prolific Tampico-Misantla Basin in the first half of this year and to commercially develop its shale resources in 2019, a company executive said. “The appraisal program that we initiated in late 2017 and running through the beginning of 2018 has brought the block back into production and tells us where to direct capital next,” Kevin Smith, Renaissance's business development vice-president, told S&P Global Platts in an interview.
