Petrobras,Repsol near deal on Mexilhao development

Brazilian oil giant Petrobras is likely only weeks away from a deal with Spain's Repsol YPF to develop gas reserves offshore Sao Paulo in ttie BS-400 deld,a company source told Plans June 22.The two companies would plan to begin BS-400 gas production around mid-2008,aiming to pump more than 15-mil CU m/d(over 500,000 Mcf/d).BS-400 field and neighboring BS 500 field make up an offshore area known as Mexllhao in Brazil's Santos Basin,with estimated gas reserves of 14.8 Tcf.
