Buenos Aires-Argentina’s Energy Secretariat has awarded a permit to CGG to do 3D seismic studies in the South Atlantic, as it prepares a new round for offshore exploration licenses, the department said Aug. 6. The France-based geophysical services company now has an eight-year permit to acquire 3D seismic data in the Malvinas Oeste Basin, or West Malvinas Basin, the department said in a resolution in the Official Bulletin, the newspaper of record.
