Brazil to sell Atapu, Sepia subsalt fields in June 2021: Energy Minister

Rio de Janeiro—Brazil plans to hold its second sale of subsalt fields in the transfer-of-rights areas in June 2021 despite uncertainties about the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the country’s Minister of Mines and Energy said late Thursday. “We are continuing, for example, with the planning to sell Sepia and Atapu that is scheduled for June 2021,” Minister Bento Albuquerque said during a webinar held by Brazilian investment house XP Investimentos. “This is something that we’ve established as a priority and we don’t feel that we need to make any changes to these priorities.”
