India's BPCL to produce up to 30,000 mt/month of low-sulfur bunker fuel at Kochi this year

New Delhi-Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd, India's third largest state-run refiner, plans to produce around 30,000 mt/month of low-sulfur fuel oil at its Kochi refinery on the country's south coast this year as demand for cleaner fuels surges following IMO 2020, company officials said. BPCL announced earlier this month it started selling IMO 2020-compliant marine fuel overseas from Kochi on February 7, becoming the first oil marketing company to export the cleaner shipping fuel from the country.
