Husky Energy reduces production by 80,000-plus b/d, cuts capex again

Houston—In a second round of capital budget cuts Monday, Canada’s Husky Energy slashed its total forecasted 2020 spending by another $700 million to a level now about half of its original roughly $3.3 billion. The company also reduced its production by more than 80,000 b/d, mostly heavy oil, and could reduce volumes further “while preserving the option to quickly ramp back up should pricing conditions allow,” Husky said in a statement.
