US copper producer Asarco, unions ratify new labor agreement

More than four years after theirprevious collective bargaining agreementhad been scheduled to expire, the UnitedSteelworkers union and members of sevenother unions have ratified a new 14-monthlabor contract with US copper producerAsarco LLC, the union said September.The new deal, covering nearly 2,000 hourlyemployees of Asarco in the US Southwest, isset to expire November 30, 2018.
