Rhodium price at all-time high on Chinese vehicle sales recovery, South African shortages: Afriforesight

Rhodium base prices climbed to an all-time high on the back of an optimistic recovery in Chinese vehicle sales and anticipated supply shortages from South Africa, South African research firm Afriforesight’s head of precious metals, Pearson Mururi, said in a research note Sept. 15. The Johnson Matthey (JM) rhodium London base price as of 0800 GMT Sept. 15, stood at $14,400/oz, up 5.1% from Sept. 14, 26% from a month ago and 375% year on year.
