Platts proposes launching new alumina atlantic differential from march 26

S&P Global Platts is proposing to launch a new weekly alumina Atlantic differential assessment effective March 26, 2020. The new assessment would represent the discount/premium (differential) for alumina in the Atlantic basin over the benchmark Platts Alumina FOB Australia daily assessment (MMWAU00). The differential assessment would be published on a FOB Brazil basis in USD per metric ton, but may reflect material from other countries in the region, normalized to an FOB Brazil basis. The Atlantic region has seen an increase in price volatility in recent years, with most cargoes traded at a differential to the FOB Australia.
