South African manganese, chrome and iron ore miner Assore has temporarily suspended production at its Dwarsrivier chrome mine as a precaution against a potential outbreak of positive tests for the novel coronavirus at the site, the company said Wednesday. “The suspension of operations was precautionary and operations are planned to resume on [Thursday], subject to a satisfactory outcome of the audit in the precautionary stoppage,” the company said told S&P Global Platts via email.
