FACE urges recognition of Italy’s aluminum industry as essential

Pittsburgh—The Federation of Aluminium Consumers in Europe on Monday called on the Italian government to recognize the aluminum industry as an essential business during the country’s lockdown in response to the coronavirus pandemic. “Considering the measures that many countries are adopting to combat the COVID- 19 pandemic, it is essential to recognize the key role of the entire aluminum value chain, both at the European and national level, taking into account its strategic value for many activities in the production system and for sustainability policies,” FACE Secretary General Mario Conserva said.
