COMEX copper drops 4.50cts/lb on technicals, profit-taking

COMEX copper futures continued to consolidate lower July 15, losing more than 4.50 cents/lb after coming under strong selling pressure at the start of New York trading as investors continued to eye developments in US-China relations. Copper for September delivery, the active month, closed 4.75 cents/lb lower at 288.50 cents/lb after falling from the 294 cents/lb level after several unsuccessful attempts to break through in late London/ early New York trading.
