China’s Apr unwrought copper, copper product imports up 12.2%

China’s imports of unwrought copper and copper products amounted to 461,458 mt in April, the latest data released late Thursday by thecountry’s General Administration of Customs showed. Imports rose by 12.2% year on year and by 4.4% from March, S&P Global Platts calculated. The recovery in Chinese demand was attributed to the increase in April imports, some sources said. They expect imports in May might rise further.
